Smooooth
The doctors want to take a look at my innerds. Sorry, I skipped HS biology class (seriously) so that's about as technical as I can get. I guess the process requires me to drink some sort of radioactive chemical so the machines can do their thing. So, off to the hospital to get my 'prep packet' which includes a quart of something optimistically called an 'Apple Smoothie' - NOW! With More Barium Inside!
Okay, I made the last bit up.
But it does include the barium and it does claim to be an apple smoothie.
I asked the gal at the desk what it really tasted like and she claimed not to know. "How can you give this stuff out and not tried it yourself?" I exclaimed.
A nurse in the back looked up and said I should refrigerate it first. "Is it that bad?" I asked. Her reply was to simply nod and shudder.
Smoothie, my ass. I'll let you know.

Apt phrase
I'm just waiting for W to use the phrase 'manifest destiny' while defending his policies.
Honest.
Honest.

Fall
Yeah, I know, I'm jumping the gun a bit but do I ever love fall. I just can't wait for summer to done - for the cool night air to come back and moderate the daily highs. It's started already, you can feel it in the early morning air. And about damned time, I say. I'll take a cold day over hot just about any day.
I'm working on my 'snow dance' now - just to be prepared.

Thoreau
"Most of the luxuries and many of the so-called comforts of life are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind."
Whatcha think of us now, Henry?
